Welcome to your September Newsletter.
Woohoo...... the forums are now up and our newly formed Quilt Board are ready to answer any questions you have. A big thank you to everyone that responded to our spot questionnaire around the design and functionality of the site. If you don’t remember receiving the email don’t worry only every 10th member was asked their opinion. The changes that are coming are profound, I assure you.
We have been successful in filling our Quilt Board positions for the USA time zone but still need to cover Europe, Asia and Australasia. So come on girls... let’s cover the globe! Heading our Quilt Board for 2008 will be Carol Steffensen. Carol is truly an authority on the subject and her input is greatly appreciated. Her patterns can be viewed and purchased here, just looking at her work you can see why we are excited with her input.
Next month is the big month. Hopefully the social quilt pages will be ready. I’m not going into too much detail but how would you like to communicate with someone with the same interests as you half way around the world?
I hope you like this month’s recipe... the kids will love it but watch the hips!
Don’t forget we have the online video library available if you want to expand your skills. For a one off subscription fee you can log-in and watch all our DVDs and CD-roms for a fraction of the price of purchasing a single product.

We thought we'd give this amazing product another mention. It's called Rule Steady and is manufactured by a business in Victoria Australia.
It measures 300mm in length and is particularly suited to people who have any arm/hand/shoulder weakness, such as arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome or muscle fatigue. Only minimal pressure is required on all sizes of patchwork rulers. Marita Jones, whose husband deleloped the product has FSH muscular dystrophy, and the muscles in her arms don't work very well, but she can use the RuleSteady on her rulers without any strain.
"I've had quite a few older ladies advise me that thanks to the RuleSteady, they're now doing their own cutting again, not having to ask 'the other half' to cut for them - no more grumbling hubbies! I love it when I hear these stories"

Combining touches of embroidery within a pieced quilt is not a new concept, however, it is an excellent way to personalize your quilt, as well as add a different dimension. I love to add touches of embroidery, so when I am designing I am always looking for different ways I can combine my other love, which is embroidery into my quilt.
